Summary

I am an enthusiastic aquatic ecologist with a broad background in freshwater ecosystems, fisheries management, and habitat restoration. My expertise includes landcover and limnological analysis, multivariate statistical analyses, GIS, and water quality assessment. With hands-on experience in both field and laboratory research, I’m excited to contribute to lake restoration projects and eager to learn from the Iowa DNR team.

My experience spans diverse aquatic environments, from Iowa’s lakes and rivers to the Amazon and Madeira Rivers in Brazil, where I’ve conducted field studies on fish populations, water quality, and habitat conditions. I’ve also presented research at national and international conferences and taught university classes, honing my ability to communicate complex data effectively.

Beyond research, I have expertise in stream restoration, fish habitat creation, and invasive species management. I’m well-versed in field techniques, water chemistry analysis, and GIS-based watershed modeling. I approach every task with integrity, accountability, and a strong focus on stakeholder needs.

I am especially passionate about collaboration and enjoy working in teams that bring out the best in each other. My strong communication skills and positive attitude foster a supportive, inclusive environment, ensuring that everyone’s strengths are recognized. I am eager to bring my technical expertise, team-oriented mindset, and passion for aquatic conservation to the Lake Restoration Specialist role and to continue learning and growing within the Iowa DNR.
