Volunteer Experience

Wayfinder Volunteer, Chicago, IL, 2016-03, 2016-10, Illinois Masonic wayfinders are volunteers that help visitors and outpatients navigate the hospital campus. Wayfinders accomplish this by giving people verbal instructions and/or offering to walk people/ push them in wheelchairs to their destination. Wayfinders work with all Departments, especially Guest Services and Patient Access in identifying individuals in need of navigational help. Wayfinders find individuals throughout the hospital campus who need assistance with directions. After attending Wheelchair Training, wayfinders are able to push individuals throughout the hospital. The primary goal of the Wayfinding Program is to increase patient satisfaction by decreasing anxiety.
