I am an outgoing and ambitious student with a willingness to take on any responsibility that may aid in achieving team goals. Simultaneously I hope to build long-lasting professional relationships and gain pivotal experience in the field of mental health care. I am motivated to gain vital hands-on experience before completing my Bachelors of Science in Psychology this winter.
Fall 2023 marks the beginning of my fifth academic year at the University of Oregon. I began this extended educational journey working towards a bachelor of arts in Journalism. After two years of school, and a series of difficult challenges, I decided to do a complete 180 and switch from a BA at the J school to a BS in Psychology. This decision was inspired by my connection with my former high school counselor alongside helping my brother and a few friends navigate their own mental health challenges. It's through these experiences in tandem with my own personal crucibles that I discovered an adeptness and passion for understanding how the human mind functions. In using what I've learned and experienced, I hope to help anyone I can with their own unique situations.
Growing up in Portland I spent a lot of time downtown skateboarding. I don't skate as often as I used to, but in the winter I take every opportunity I can to snowboard. If I don't have a board beneath my feet, I'm likely to have a camera in my hands, as I wander around and take pictures of whatever catches my eye. I also love to cook, spend time with my girlfriend and friends, visit my family back home, and occasionally sit down to play some video games.
