i worked for good year as a auto lube technician from 9am to 5pm every weekday doing basic work of oil changes, fluid refills, tire repairs and replacements, and keeping the shop clean.
i started as a diesel mechanic apprentice a few months before graduating high school for a independent owned shop working on isuzus, mitsubishis, and internationals doing whatever was told and needed to be done from maintenance, replacing parts, body work and repairs, as well as cleaning and organizing the shop. i worked after school and after finishing homework on weekdays from 6pm to 11pm sometimes later if needed and saturdays from 9am to 3pm.
i currently work at capo brothers, most of the work has been preventative maintenance and repairs, i look over the trucks to reach DOT laws and regulations for safety on the road, ive done various jobs from repairs, diagnostics and adjustments to all areas of the truck such as brakes, suspension, drivetrain, engine, electrical, and body work . on down time i clean my area, tools, and the shop, as well as giving a helping hand where needed.
i started working at the Peterbilt dealer ship after graduting UTI and finishing an extended Peterbilt specific training program the school offered, i started doing basic work from vehicle maintenance, cleaning the shop, preparing new trucks for sales, and basic repairs, as time passed earning the trust of the shop and using learning experience with the training of the technical school. i now diagnose and repair issues from engine, transmission, electrical, driveline, abs, and chassis sides, i remove and replace parts reaching dealer warranty standards efficiently always learning and adapting my work with new and old experience , i record and organize data and information of trucks and their issues along with parts replaced keeping logs as i go, i have worked on a variety of problems, parts, and models of peterbilts that i can say i can diagnose and rebuild an entire truck with almost no issue.
a seasonal job with the district as a student worker assisting in cleaning a elementary school during my sophomore, junior, and senior year where i worked after school for 2 hours every weekday and once during the summer cleaning up and preparing the school for the new school year for 4 hours a day.
i entered UTI wanting to strengthen and grow my knowledge as a mechanic to further my career and work path. i studied in the diesel specific program following the course work, studying for exams and doing dedicated lesson homework. i graduated early doubling up classes at the half of my initial school year schedule. i completed trade school with a 3.7 GPA
i have a certification from completing trade school at Universal Technical Institute diesel program and a certification completing the Peterbilt Technical institute program.
