• As an engineer, we had collateral duties, which included partnering with tactical teams and joining the Interagency Task Force South, resulting in drug seizures of over 100 kg.

• Furthering education by completing nine weeks of digital and advanced analog electronics school at the USCG Training Center in Yorktown, VA.

• I was a student for 19 weeks to learn how to be an electrician in the USCG.

• Sought collateral duties by joining the Coast Guard Band and volunteering time off duty at the Goodwill and animal shelters.

• Attended Coast Guard boot camp for eight weeks, learning and living the core values of honor, respect, and devotion to duty.
