Summary

I am a dedicated law enforcement professional with over four years of full-time service here at the University of Toledo Police Department. Throughout my tenure, I have consistently demonstrated professionalism, integrity, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to the department’s mission of providing high-quality service to the campus community. I maintain a discipline-free record, a strong attendance history, and a reputation for reliability, accountability, and teamwork.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and a Master of Business Administration in Public Health Management, both of which I have obtained here at the University of Toledo. This educational background enhances my ability to think strategically, communicate effectively, manage personnel and resources, and understand public safety operations within a complex organizational environment. I am a certified de-escalation instructor and regularly apply and reinforce communication-based policing strategies that prioritize officer safety, professionalism, and positive community interactions.

Operationally, I have led the department overtime worked during each of my four years of service, consistently stepping up during staffing shortages, special events, and critical incidents. This reflects my strong attendance, initiative, and willingness to support department operations beyond minimum expectations. I have also completed the department Personal Incentive Program fitness test and a minimum of 40 hours of voluntary training annually, demonstrating continued investment in professional development and readiness.

For the past two years, I have served as a Field Training Officer, where I am responsible for training, mentoring, and evaluating new officers. In this role, I provide guidance, reinforce departmental policies and procedures, address performance issues, and model professional conduct. This experience has strengthened my leadership abilities, communication skills, and confidence in decision-making while holding officers accountable to established standards.

In addition to my formal responsibilities, I consistently demonstrate initiative by identifying issues early, offering practical solutions, and supporting supervisors in maintaining efficient daily operations. I communicate clearly and professionally with officers, supervisors, university partners, and members of the campus community, even in high-stress situations. I am trusted to make sound decisions, remain composed under pressure, and represent the department positively at all times. These qualities, combined with my experience and leadership roles, reflect my readiness to assume increased supervisory responsibility and effectively support department goals.

I am proactive, solution-oriented, and motivated to continuously improve both myself and the department. I have consistently demonstrated interest in leadership through my actions, training efforts, and willingness to assume additional responsibility. I believe my experience, education, proven performance, and commitment to the University of Toledo Police Department make me a strong candidate for promotion to Sergeant, where I can further support command staff, develop officers, and contribute to the department’s continued excellence.
