Samuel Nsengiyumva

I have been in AVID for the past six years. During this time, I have learned how to work effectively in teams by participating in community service activities such as helping at elementary school events, serving as a tour guide for mazes, running booths, and ensuring everyone has fun and gets a turn. Additionally, I have developed strong communication and patience skills through my involvement in volunteering at nursing homes with the Pathfinders group from my church, where I shared comforting Bible verses, served food, and sang Christmas carols to the residents. I have also organized car washes and recently expanded my community involvement by using social media to advertise car wash services.
Through these experiences, I have learned how to receive criticism, be patient, and show respect by maintaining a positive attitude toward others. These skills have motivated me to pursue my goal. This past summer, I had the opportunity to work with a builder, which further fueled my desire to pursue a career in architecture in college. After obtaining my degree, my ultimate goal is to own a business.
