  • Colorectal Surgery (4 months): The main aspects of my job involve stoma assessment, fluid management and post-operative reviews. Practical procedures I have undertaken include: IV cannulation, NG tubes etc.
  • OBGYN (4 months). Involved in performing pelvic exams for cervical cancer screening, transvaginal US interpretation, interpreting CTGs and assisting in both natural and aided deliveries (C-sections, forceps, etc.).
  • Pulmonology (2 months). During this rotation, involved in performing and interpreting ABGs; CXR and CT interpretation; managing respiratory infections, as well as acute exacerbations of both asthma and COPD.

    This role developed my leadership skills in several areas:

  • Recruitment. The club initially started with 20 players and increased to 30+ by the end of my presidency.
  • Managerial. Actively oversaw the club's day-to-day workings by delegating duties to committee members e.g., ensuring the social media officer was regularly marketing the club to freshers via Insta, FB and flyers.
  • Training. Facilitated training sessions for beginner and advanced players.
  • Finance. Managed finances in trust with the treasurer
  • 1st & 2nd Team BL Squash Captain 09/2018 – 07/2019

    As Captain, my duties focused on team building, proficiency, and game strategy:

  • Personally led Wednesday training sessions for the advanced team (while the head coach trained the beginner team)
  • Planned structured training sessions: warm-up exercises (court sprints, rallies), training drills (cross court shots, drop shots, volley technique), main activities (1v1 matches with rapid rotations), and cool-down exercises (stretches)
  • Organized games with other British universities within the BUCS and LUSL league, ensuring transport and venue were available.
  • Maintained the morale of the first and second teams through weekly socials and team building exercises.
  • Arranged 4 monthly visits to watch professionals play (e.g., the Canary wharf classics) followed by reflective debriefs.
