Through a passion for the Earth and human impact, I am motivated to find an occupation that would complement my curriculum and hopefully inform a career choice after graduating. I really enjoyed the time I spent on ranches and at the Post Agronomy Farm here at MSU and, while the grunt work was fun, I am passionate about finding a way to apply the scientific knowledge I have gained to better understand how my role fits in with the Earth. In a lab setting, I find a rhythm to the work right away and conduct all procedures with a high degree of precision. I enjoy doing write-ups and can utilize Excel proficiently for data entry, statistical analysis, and some functions. I can stand for long periods of time and am more than comfortable with repetitive work.
I also have several years of mechanical experience with vehicles and farm equipment; if my degree does not align with my goals in life by the time I receive it, I would either like to work in a mechanic shop or in fire service. I have three years of volunteer fire service and EMS experience at a local department, and feel that those skills translate well to applying myself at school and in the workplace.
