As a volunteer in the Emergency Department, I assisted with patient flow by calling patients from the waiting room to their assigned treatment rooms, ensuring a smooth transition and minimizing wait times. I provided mobility assistance, including escorting patients to their rooms with a wheelchair, and ensured their comfort by setting up pillows, blankets (including heated blankets from the refrigerator), and water upon arrival. Additionally, I supported nursing staff by preparing treatment rooms, restocking supplies such as pillows, blankets, and other medical materials, and maintaining room organization for efficient patient care. I communicated with patients and families, relaying messages and providing updates while maintaining a compassionate, calm presence in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. I also assisted visitors by answering questions, confirming visitation permissions, and escorting them to patient rooms, ensuring a positive experience for family members and friends. To support infection control measures, I helped maintain a clean, sterile environment by sanitizing patient areas and commonly touched surfaces. I ensured the timely availability of essential supplies, including heated blankets, by managing stock and storing items in the heated refrigerator when needed. Throughout my role, I demonstrated strong teamwork by collaborating with medical staff to address patient needs, provide comfort, and contribute to a positive healthcare experience.

Assisted in maintaining a clean, sterile, and safe environment by thoroughly disinfecting exam tables, counters, and high-touch surfaces in both patient and waiting areas. Sterilized dental instruments exposed to blood or bodily fluids, ensuring proper organization and accessibility in each treatment room. Supported dental imaging by taking accurate X-rays, positioning patients correctly, and ensuring high-quality diagnostic images while strictly following safety protocols to minimize radiation exposure. Ensured adherence to infection control measures by wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves and masks, and safely disposing of medical waste in designated biohazard containers.

Called patients into the treatment rooms and ensured they were prepared for their specific procedures. Organized and set up the exact instruments and supplies needed for each procedure, ensuring they were readily available for the doctor. Stocked and replenished supplies in treatment rooms and waiting areas to ensure the office was well-prepared for daily operations. Provided clear communication with patients, explaining the procedures and answering any questions to help them feel comfortable and at ease. Collaborated with dental staff to ensure smooth patient flow and a team-oriented environment. As a Counselor-in-Training at Chevy Chase Recreational Center, I assisted senior counselors in organizing and leading a variety of camp activities, including games, arts and crafts, nature walks, and team-building exercises. I supervised groups of children, ensuring their safety, participation, and enjoyment throughout daily activities, while also promoting positive behavior and conflict resolution. I took initiative in mentoring younger campers, providing guidance and encouragement, and serving as a role model for teamwork and responsibility. My role helped me develop essential skills in conflict resolution, communication, and adaptability while fostering a supportive and inclusive atmosphere for campers.
