Sanath Seetharam

Martial Arts:  (2016-current) :   I attend Wado martial arts training classes and advance through a traditional karate curriculum, obtaining eight  belt ranks, as well as numerous stripe achievements per rank. I am currently training for my black belt rank. This involves bi-weekly classes (1.5 hrs. each), competitions, and attending special training sessions.

Piano:  (2019-current):   I have taken piano lessons for the last 4 years and engaged in recitals 3-4 times per year, playing multiple classical pieces in front of an audience of about 50 guests.

Chess: (2015-2023):  I have been playing chess since kindergarten. In elementary school, I did play twice a month in scholastic chess tournaments offered throughout the city.  I also took chess development classes, and finished in the Queen level (final level) of the curriculum through The Chess Emporium.

Swimming: (2011-current):  I have been swimming most of my life on recreational teams, but I am now swimming on a competitive club team (Scottsdale Aquatic Club). I've achieved timings fast enough to reach the silver level (2nd highest level in my age division) qualifications. I compete 1-2x month in club swim meets.

Speech and Debate: (2021-current):  I have participated in many school and statewide competitions, entering in Congressional Debate and Impromptu Speaking. I also participated in the Middle School National Speech & Debate competition in Impromptu Speaking (22-23 school year).  I am currently attending semi-private Speech and Debate lessons through Ascend.

Coding: (January 2023-current): I'm now taking private online lessons about JavaScript coding through BYJU'S FutureSchool

Swimming: achieved state-level qualifying times in some events

Karate: 3rd place in local tournament for both kata form presentation as well as 1-on-1 sparring events  (18-19 school year)

Chess: awarded numerous distinctions including, most recently, a (22-23 school year) school championship in the Governor's Cup tournament

Speech and Debate:

Scottsdale Preparatory Academy (22-23 school year): Congressional Debate- finalist, 10th place

Middle School States (22-23 school year):  AZ State Wide Competition- Achieved 1st place in Impromptu Speaking

Scottsdale Preparatory Academy (23-24 school year):  Congressional Debate-  1st place Winner

Mountain View Toro County Classic (23-24 school year):  Congressional Debate-  3rd place Winner
