1. Support DGM-IP in advising the MAS Group on matters related to Intellectual Property (IP)
protection including:
• Support and participate in negotiations, deal structuring, manage external counsel and
draft agreements for IP transactions such as IP acquisitions.
• Assist in IP due diligence & advise on IP implications relating to corporate transactions.
• Advise on registrability of trademarks and conduct internal trademark searches, legal
aspects of patentability of inventions.
• Support the protection of other intellectual property rights within MAS Group (i.e.,
copyrights, industrial designs, and trade secrets).
2. Provide Contractual support to MAS Group on matters related to Intellectual Property (IP)
protection including:
• Review and draft contracts relating to exploitation of IP rights such as collaboration
agreements, license agreements, non-disclosure agreements.
• Advise on manufacturing related agreements with a focus on IP aspects of the same.
• Review, draft, and support execution of deeds relating to IP such as assignments deeds,
Power of Attorneys etc.
• Draft other legal correspondence including authorization letters, termination letters,
cease and desist letters and other relevant documentation relating to IP assets (i.e.,
trademarks, patents, copyrights etc.) of MAS Group.
3. Connect with foreign associates and attorneys to manage the MAS Group IP Rights portfolio,
including engaging with foreign associates and attorneys to:
• Conduct trademark searches, file and maintain trademark on behalf of MAS Group.
• Prosecute trademark applications and prepare documents for submission at IP offices
(i.e., Affidavits, Power of Attorneys etc.)
• File and maintain copyright and industrial design applications on behalf of MAS Group.
• File, maintain and prosecute patent applications on behalf of MAS Group.
• Prosecute patent applications and prepare documents for submission at IP offices (i.e.,
Affidavits, Power of Attorneys etc.)
4. Research on regulatory frameworks including applicable international treaties and conventions
relating to IP, and implications of the same for protection of inventions, creative works, and IP
transactions.
5. Research and advise key stakeholders across the Group on establishing IP strategies and
frameworks for protection of IP assets.
6. Develop, roll out, support implementation and monitor IP protection, defense & risk mitigation
processes such as IP & Confidentiality Policies and Guidelines.
7. Educating wide cross section of MAS Group employees with focus on job roles related to
innovation, product development and customer engagement teams on fundamentals of IP.
8. Perform duties relating supporting the maintenance of IP assets of MAS Group such as
maintaining and updating MAS Group’s IP rights portfolio and prepare reports on the same as an
when requested by management.
