While the most recent years of my employment history are medically based, my foundation comes from the years I spent in the insurance industry. I spent nearly 25 years working on various types of casualty, liability, and workers' compensation claims.
I started in this business as a clerk typist and worked my way to being a supervisor in the claims department of several insurance companies over the years. Part of my experience was the day-to-day operation of claims, but also of the litigated cases, working with both plaintiff and defense attorneys, and administrative law judges.
Although my independent contractor work has been mostly medical-based since I left the insurance industry, my background and experience would be most beneficial for me in the transcription of legal depositions.
Prior positions have enabled me to become familiar with editing drafts from speech recognition software to eliminate errors and improve flow.
