Began as a med-surg RN in 1992 at sacred heart MC in spokane, WA , and then transferred to ICU ( at sacred heart for 13 years) I did some ICU travel nursing for 2 years in SF area We lived in texas for several years for my husbands job and i worked at Baylor ICU in plano, TX, before coming back to washington state I trained Navy corpsmen in ICU for 2 years for DOD, and then transferred to UWMC ICU before leaving ICU nursing to begin my career at the VA in seattle with preventive care I worked from 2014-2025 in HT where we managed patients with chronic diseases, and i also was a diabetic educator for my panel and for the nurses on my team While at Seattle VA I also worked on the facility wide disaster management and deployment team, and i deployed for hurricanes, and eventually for Covid with a federal disaster team I retired in 2025 because DOGE was going to require me to drive 25 hours each way to work
