Hospital Medical Leader - oversee medical aspects of very busy small animal practice. Brand new hospital. Opened on 8/13/24. Have increased the client base in this short amount of time to where we now need a second doctor. See 25+ appointments per day. Provide medical services from wellness to surgery. In conjunction with my Hospital Operation Manager, lead a full, highly-trained staff. Our focus is providing the best care for not only the pet but the pet parent as well. The highest standard of medical care and customer services are our top priorities.

Permanent staff veterinarian (5 hours/day, 5 days/week) at wellness services clinic. Providing primary care services such as vaccinations, heartworm/tick-borne disease testing, fecal analysis, early disease detection testing and prescribing monthly preventatives. Also able to provide care for minor medical conditions and prescribe appropriate medication(s)/treatment(s). Primary focus on client education and preventative medicine.

Veterinary telemedicine triage service, small/large animal/exotics, offering live video consultations with licensed veterinarians 24/7, 365 days a year. The company operates in 7 markets (United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland). I am based in Northern California. In addition to being a licensed veterinarian in California, I hold a current active license in New Mexico, New York and New Jersey. Perform teletriage services during assigned shifts, primarily at night and on weekends. Consultations are scheduled for every 15 minutes. During the consultation, a history is taken, a video examination is performed and recommendations provided, which range from instructing the pet parent to continue to monitor their pet to alerting the pet parent that they need to immediately take their pet to the emergency clinic. Written medical records are then emailed to the pet parent within an hour of the consultation. Being able to quickly think on one's feet is a must, as is a broad extensive medical background, expertise and very good communication skills.

Purchased hospital 11/1/2013. 1-1/2 doctor practice. Was the full-time doctor. Standard duties of a veterinarian/owner, human resources management, staff development, ordered supplies, maintained inventory, created practice budget and managed account receivables, created and monitored promotions and marketing, increased new client traffic and practice revenue. Sold the practice 5/10/19 and continued to work there as the medical director until 12/31/19.
