COMP-011: College Composition I

(One section in Fall 2023 and two sections in Fall 2024)

• Developed syllabi and course website (Canvas), introduced concepts in rhetoric and writing genres, created a 3-part course structure of narrative, op-ed, and final portfolio, provided one-on-one conferences to discuss student progress, and evaluated major assignments with extensive feedback for revisions.

WA-013: The Writer’s Mind

(One section in Spring 2024)

• Developed syllabi and course website (Canvas), merging rhetoric, research writing, and creative writing genres, and assigned 2 major assignments: Genre Analysis Essay and Final Multi-Genre Portfolio.
• Assigned and evaluated minor assignments such as the Shadow Poem, Braided Narrative Creative Nonfiction Essay, and Multi-Modal Project.
• Conducted workshops to discuss creative works, assigned group discussion of genre comparisons, and created how-to guides for practicing creative writing whilst considering rhetoric.

FRST-1101: College Writing Intensive

(One section in Fall 2023 and two sections in Fall 2024)

• Developed syllabi and course website (Blackboard), introduced concepts in rhetoric and writing with additionally focus on pacing and additional one-on-one instruction.
• Created a 3-part course structure for introductory college writing: narrative, op-ed, and final portfolio, and provided one-on-one conferences to discuss student progress and evaluated major assignments with extensive feedback for revisions.

• Translate written text into digitized text, conduct line and copy edits, and prepare chapters for publication of HAP: Dean of the New Jersey Senate and Master of Bipartisan Politics (forthcoming publication with Stockton University)
• Supervise secondary editors copy for book publication and verify facts, dates, and statistics for book publication
• Conduct research and create an index, bibliography, and extensive footnotes of historical information.

HUM-102: Self, Society, and the Humanities

(one section in online term 24EW6)

• Introduced and emphasized the importance of identity and the humanities through analyses of creative works in the literary, visual, and performing arts.
• Introduced basic concepts of the humanities through discussion of rhetoric and encouraged critical thinking and reflection of students’ own creative endeavors and means of expression and meaning making.

• Evaluated donated materials and texts for possible publication
• Delegated work to interns, evaluated and organized submitted reports, and communicated findings to the Director of the program.
• Assisted in the organization, logistics, and set-up of community events.

ENG-205: Introduction to Creative Writing

(One section in Fall 2022, one section in Spring 2023)

• Developed a syllabus, reading list, and weekly lesson plans for three genres of creative writing: fiction, nonfiction, and poetry, and created a corresponding course web site via Canvas.
• Organized and conducted weekly lectures, assigned a diverse range of readings in each genre, and conducted weekly writing workshops with students.

ENG-101: Introduction to College Writing

(One section in Fall 2021, one section in Spring 2023)

• Developed syllabi, visual aids, supplementary notes, and course website (Canvas) and provided weekly lectures.
• Created a 3-part course structure for common college writing: narrative, op-ed, and argumentative research paper

ENG-102: Introduction to Research

(One section in Spring 2022)

• Developed syllabi, visual aids, supplementary notes, and course website (Canvas) and provided weekly lectures.
• Utilized a building-block structure of introducing 3 research writing genres: research proposal, annotated bibliography, and argumentative research paper.

• Assisted students in essay writing strategies and skills by offering feedback and resources, and assisted students in developing positive academic strategies for college writing in multiple genres (STEM, literary, graduate/PhD and more).

• Developed the undergraduate course ENG-451B: American Literature II from scratch, including a complete syllabus and reading list.
• Developed the Canvas course, including each module, chapter, discussion, and assessment.
• Read and evaluated literary works and created formative and summative assessments based on literature, including quizzes, discussions, and course activities.

• Co-edited Back to the Land by Ruth Weinstein for publication
• Examined and copy-edited additional texts for publication through the Alliance Heritage Center
• Developed website and published material publicizing the Alliance Heritage Center

• Gained proficiency in Adobe InDesign, creating layout and design of books
• Proofread, edited and evaluated final copy to verify content aligned with established guidelines
• Edited Migdal Zophim: Farming in the Jewish Colonies of South Jersey for publication
