As a charge nurse we assign patients that are on the unit and as they arrive to the unit, make sure staffing is adequate for the oncoming shift and ensure the units code carts and anesthesia carts are up to date.

I also have worked as a preceptor teaching new nurses to L&D how to take care of the mother and fetus during both antepartum and laboring.
