  • As a volunteer in the Korean Culture Festival hosted by the Department of Asian Studies, I worked with my team to ensure the sound and visual/backgrounds for the stage presentations, performances, and main activities flowed smoothly to support the festival, while also participating in the speaking and cultural presentation competitions

  • Aside from my main duties as an instructor, I manage clerical duties, contact parents to discuss their child(s)'s performance, and maintain the organization and visual appeal of our center
  • Additionally, I participate in regular team meetings with my co-workers and manager to plan events (including marketing strategies) and discuss how to improve our performance as individual tutors and as a team through 'team teaching'
  • We also discuss our students' behavior, performances and situations as well as how we can help them conquer math-related challenges
  • Through this experience, I've greatly improved my interpersonal skills and confidence while communicating with customers (parents) often and working with students of all ages so they can truly understand and be able to apply math skills in a comfortable, friendly, and supportive environment

Girls' Halaqah Co-Leader (Study Circle)

  • After starting as a regular member of the girls' halaqah (study circle) hosted by MAS SoFlo Chapter at Masjid Al-Ihsaan in 2016, I became a co-leader where I participate with my fellow leaders in preparing for and leading interactive activities/discussions with the other teenage girls/young women in our halaqah group on a bi-weekly basis
