Work History

Scientist/Engineer

Naval Undersea Warfare Center
09.2024 - Current

Scientist 1

PacMar technologies
05.2023 - Current
  • Implemented control systems onboard unmanned prototypes and products for use in the defense sector
  • Developed a variety of machine learning systems for applications in control, anomaly detection, and data analysis
  • RGD: Problem identification, requirements definition, new theory development, analysis, experimentation, presenting findings, reporting and documenting results
  • Engineering of perception and control systems including systems of systems for new vehicles, modeling G simulation, and software applications
  • Communicated results to clients and stakeholders in the Department of Defense, commercial and research industries
  • Supported development of new business opportunities: gap analysis, client relations, proposal writing
  • Experience developing in a variety of simulation engines including Gazebo, Simulink.

Guest Investigator

Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution
05.2023 - Current
  • Continuing the investigation of my postdoctoral research and pursuing other research opportunities in geophysics and applied ocean engineering at WHOI

Postdoctoral Investigator

Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution
07.2022 - 05.2023
  • Analysis of a unique and very large dataset of local micro-earthquake events from the Oman Ophiolite
  • Data was recorded over a 6-month-long period using an array of 40 geophones and hydrophones
  • I performed a statistical analysis using the geophone data to locate the P waves from overlapping signals in order to do ray tracing to determine the depth of the seismic event causing the serpentinization

Research Assistant

The University of Rhode Island
09.2018 - 06.2022
  • I was a research assistant during my Ph.D
  • In Electrical Engineering working in the Intelligent Control and Robotics Laboratory under the mentorship of Dr
  • Paolo Stegagno who was my Ph.D
  • Advisor
  • I was working on projects that eventually turned into my doctoral dissertation involving visual localization and observability analysis, in addition to helping set up the laboratory which involved building a cage for testing, installing Opti-track as well as building out ground robots for general use in the lab

Adjunct Lecturer

The University of Rhode Island
09.2018 - 08.2021
  • Lectured at various times throughout my second Ph.D
  • At the University of Rhode Island physics department on classical mechanics, electrodynamics, as well as thermodynamics and optics
  • Successfully taught physics to hundreds of students using innovative technologies during the COVID-19 pandemic
  • I lectured during the Fall 2018 as well as the Summer 2020 and 2021 where I taught both summer sessions

Teaching Assistant

The University of Rhode Island
09.2012 - 05.2018
  • I was a teaching assistant in the physics department during my Ph.D
  • In Physics
  • I taught the laboratory component of the Introductory Mechanics class during my first year, and in the subsequent 4 years taught the laboratory component of the Introductory Thermodynamics class
  • Additionally, I held office hours to help students with either their conceptual questions or homework problems

Visiting Research Fellow

Technion University, ANPL Laboratory - Haifa
05.2016 - 09.2016
  • Company Overview: Israel Institute of Technology, Haifa, Israel
  • Visiting researcher for a summer, working on robot belief space planning using a probabilistic non-parametric approach
  • Worked to improve the planning for robot system in complex outdoor environments
  • Israel Institute of Technology, Haifa, Israel

Summer Intern

Hewlett Packard Enterprise
05.2015 - 09.2015
  • Worked with the automation team on various projects to help develop and automate HP Software
  • Helped to develop software and streamline user experience for HP computers

Software Developer

Intuitive Analytics
09.2011 - 06.2012
  • Developed financial software to help financial analysts with the analysis of capital market risk
  • My focus was primarily on bridging the gap between the core software performing the financial analysis and integrating it into the workspace most used by our customers which was Microsoft excel
