As a patient sitter, it was my job to ensure safety of patient's who need to be watched while they are placed on a "EOD" hold. These patient's were either there because they were suicidal, homicidal, or it could have been a patient with altered mental status of some sort that just needed extra eyes on them to ensure they didn't fall or pull out their IV's. It was up to the Doctor to make these calls and order a patient sitter for these patient's. We would sit outside of their room, while writing down their behavior every 15 minutes, sometimes we would talk to the patients, sometimes we would help restrain patient's, and sometimes we would just sit there and observe. It all just depended on the situation. As a Covid Screener, we were assigned entrances of the hospital to screen every employee or visitor entering the hospital, we would run down a list of symptoms to differentiate those with the possibility of having Covid and those who were A-symptomatic. We were to take everyone's temperature and after the questions they were given wrist bands to indicate whether or not they were symptomatic or A-symptomatic. If it was a patient that failed the screening, they were to go to a specific place in the ER, if it was an employee that failed the screening, they were to take certain protocols to be cleared before return to work.
