Completed a 13-week preceptorship and current team member as a staff nurse in the medical pulmonary unit of an 800+ bed hospital that receives a variety of acuity and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Responsibilities include:

• Conducting comprehensive assessments, monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and performing and delegating tasks within the nursing scope of practice to provide direct patient care to 6-7 patients per shift
• Caring for individuals with wide array of medical issues such as pulmonary, cardiology and infectious disease patients
• Developing skills in time management and prioritization in a fast-paced environment
• Engaging in monthly educational opportunities to develop nursing skills
• Identifying patient decompensation and activating the response team
• Collaborating with multi-disciplinary team members to achieve patient goals
