Summary

I am soon to be graduated from Walden University as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I have 6 years of psychiatric experience as a registered nurse at UofL Health Peace Hospital. During my time at Peace Hospital, I often worked as charge nurse of the detox unit and helped to train many nurses throughout my career. There I worked with adults that suffer from substance abuse, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, depression and other mental illnesses. I also worked with children and adolescents during the Covid pandemic. I have completed practicum rotations at Park Duvalle Community Health Center and the Brook Hospital where I developed an understanding of providing treatment to patients throughout the lifespan in both an inpatient and outpatient setting. I also participated in psychotherapy with trained licensed counselors to improve my therapeutic communication. I am passionate about working with psychiatric patients. I am looking forward to working with the treatment team and the community to improve the quality of life of those who deal with mental illness. I have a vast knowledge of prescribing and administering psychotropic medications. I am able to demonstrate exceptional clinical judgment and empathy, excelling in patient care and advocacy. Skilled in EMR/EHR, fostering high-quality outcomes and patient satisfaction through evidence-based practices and compassionate communication.
