  • I engaged with our (then) local councilwoman to help write and support a grant being written to help engage students aged 4th-7th grade with Friendship Park Community Center, which was then being used almost exclusively by retired seniors.
  • After the grant was awarded, I applied and was accepted as the Project Coordinator.
  • I operated as the main point person to facilitate the grant by running the student program- The Civic Leadership Pilot Project and was able to help achieve all of the directives of the grant.
  • I also championed writing the grant report.
  • I was heavily involved in outreach which empowered me to alert the board and the stakeholders of an alarming outlier of cancer emerging in the homes of more than half of the families in our program and allowed us to support urgent community needs.
  • My duties were extensive; ranging from meal planning and coordinating with Connecting Kids with Meals, running weekly meetings and special events, writing press releases and interacting with Board members, all the while, managing all spending and reporting all expenses and I was able to stay under budget.
  • I met regularly with school professionals and with Partners in Education, interacting with various non-profits and stakeholders and engaging with local politics as directed by the grant's goals.

Experience With School Aged Children - Description

I volunteered through Washington Local School District in the Kindergarten grade level class at Shoreland Elementary on several occasions during the 2016-2017 school year, at one occasion substituting for the teacher while she completed testing outside of the classroom. I have served as a volunteer in numerous roles for the Point Place Ecumenical VBS held at Messiah Lutheran Church working directly with children (serving 2011-2019).
