Regarding the employment gaps on my resume, I would like to provide further context. In 2009, I made the decision to prioritize raising my two sons, now 15 and 16. After my husband left the Foreign Service in 2018, I homeschooled my children during the transition back the the U.S. and again during the COVID pandemic. During this time, I was actively involved in volunteer activities through the Board of Elections, youth sports programs and BackPack Buddies. I also engaged in relevant courses and self-study to ensure that I am well-prepared to seamlessly transition back into the workforce.
One of my proudest HR achievements was spearheading a collaboration with local colleges to create a pipline of key talent for hard to fill positions. By implementing targeted recruitment strategies, I was able to significantly decrease the amount of time vacant positions remained open.
