Sarah Kingsbury

In my previous or current jobs, each position has required the abilities to adapt, problem solve, and remain loving and caring in all environments. I have been blessed with opportunities to serve in my occupation. As store manager for Humblelove, the tasks and interactions are diverse. Through it, the skills of listening, responding, and acting in a professional yet caring manner continue to come to fruition.

Awana Volunteering for Calvary Baptist

• Served from age 12 to 21.
• Children supervision and mentorship in scripture reading and memorization.

Vacation Bible School Summer Volunteering for Calvary Baptist

• Served from age 12 to 21.
• Engagement and teaching of the Bible through music and historical interaction.

Counselor for Calvary Baptist Youth Group

• Served as a counselor on the 2023 youth trip.
• On standby for the 2024 youth trip. This trip will include service in intercity of Denton Texas.

Speech Volunteer Coaching and Mentorship

• Began volunteering at my former speech and debate club.
• Volunteer work includes occasional teaching on subjects of literary interpretation, creative writing, construction communication.
• Listening to student's speeches and providing feedback for speeches on matters pertaining to faith and the Gospel.

Music Team Volunteer for Calvary Baptist Church

• Started serving 2021. I serve in singing with our music team. We help lead worship on Sunday mornings. Occasionally, we hold community wide worship nights.

Kids Cavalry Horse Therapy

• Started serving around age 17.
• This ministry is for children who are special needs. Volunteer's must go through a round of training for all possible scenarios.
• My positions have included side-walker and horse handler.
• My interactions with my riders have been incredible and eye opening. They inspire me so much, and their strength is amazing. Sharing the Gospel with each rider is the most fulfilling part of the ministry.

Nursing Home Music Volunteer for Calvary Baptist

• Beginning this year, I occasionally step in for leading music at the nursing home ministry my church does each Sunday morning.
• Holding conversations with residents can be challenging, but I have learned so much from each resident there. Having diversity in age of a ministry is a beautiful picture of the Church and how we are one family.

Humblelove Ministry

• As my place of work, professionalism is a must. However, I have had wonderful opportunities to talk, encourage, and pray with customers that open up to me. My interactions have included sharing the Gospel or encouraging a brother or sister in Christ to keep trusting the Lord in their and life and situation.

Pioneers Ministry at Emmanuel Baptist Church

• I started serving at age 17. This ministry has been such a blessing in my life. My hardest ministry moments have come from this volunteering, but the most beautiful moments have followed.
• At Pioneers, we work with intercity and at risk children. Every Friday night during the school year, transportation teams pick up the kids and bring them to the church. We feed them dinner and teach them the Gospel.
• I have been a counselor for all of my time at Pioneers. About three years ago I became a part of the transportation team.
• As part of the transportation team, I get to interact first hand with the families of these kids, which has allowed me to grow in empathy and understanding for each child I counsel.
• This ministry has allowed me to grow in my understanding and conviction of the Gospel. In every moment, I am reminded of my absolute reliance on the Lord and that He holds salvation in His Hands.

Home Care and Ministry

• I am one of four children. Two of my sisters are biological, and my other sister and brother are from Ukraine. We brought them home right before I turned 15. My siblings from Ukraine were 11 and 16. This transition was very difficult for me and my entire family. It took about four years of me wrestling with the concept of adoption before I truly surrendered it to the Lord.
• Fast forwards 7 years later, and I desire so much to foster and adopt myself. Having the daily opportunity to serve my blended family is a blessing. While not always easy, I have come to realize how much God loves adoption. Adoption is a beautiful picture of the Gospel. The Lord choosing to put it in my life is something I'll always be grateful for.
