Volleyball Clinic

  • I started a volleyball clinic through the recreation program with one of my friends
  • We conducted the clinic for free, with optional donations to Moms Helping Moms in which we raised around $150
  • The clinic was meant for middle school kids, who were beginners at the sport, we had a great turnout of kids
  • We had 6 sessions focusing on volleyball basics such as passing, serving, spiking and setting

Summer Camp Counselor

  • I worked at a camp for older elementary/middle school kids for 2 years as a counselor

My responsibilities include:

  • Responsibility over the kids for the duration of the 6 hour camp
  • Supervising trips to places as far as 2 hours away.

  • Organizing and guiding group activities like arts and crafts, sports, small tournaments, water games, dessert days and theme days by leading and participating with campers.
  • Implementing positive reinforcement techniques to encourage desired behavior from campers both individually and within group settings.
  • Facilitating conflict resolution between campers when necessary, promoting healthy communication skills within the group dynamic.
  • Managing daily operations of camp programs, ensuring smooth transitions between activities and maintaining participant engagement throughout the day.

Extracurricular Activities

Reach Out And Read Club, Millburn High School

  • I started a club at my school with a friend, in association with the nationwide program 'Reach Out and Read'. I serve as a co-president of the club.
  • We run bake sales to supply books to the pediatric section of local hospitals like St. Barnabas.
  • We also plan events at our local library (Millburn Public Library) that involve reading a book then conducting an activity that has to do with the book.

United Way Varsity Letter in Community Service/ Gold Presidents Service Award

  • The program involved volunteering at least 120 hours, 20 of these hours had to be with United Way
  • Last year, I completed 287 volunteer hours
  • I am on the path to receive these letters throughout high school, though I currently only have 1 from freshman year. I have been able to achieve this varsity letter with help from involvement in my school's Key Club, and other volunteering opportunities

Soulfege A Cappella, Millburn

  • I'm a soon to be music director of the student run A Cappella group at my school
  • It includes a time commitment of at least 4 hours a week. Involvement in competitions like Singstrong and ICHSA.
  • Running our own concerts like SAVE (proceeds are used to aid vocal education through the nonprofit SAVE), Winter Jam, Throwback
  • Involves participation in additional gigs, parties, school assemblies. Also involves, arranging music for the group and getting familiar with online arranging programs like Musescore.

Involvement in My Schools Music Program

  • I'm a member of my schools chorus. I'm in specific program called Accel Contemporary Voice, it involves partaking in additional recitals, showcases, and juries for musical theater repertoire
  • French horn is one of my passions and I enjoy performing in my school band
  • Music continues to be a significant part of my life which stems from my elementary school days along with other musical endeavors outside of school

  • I have been in the program since 7th grade. I was selected to CORE7 (a select core group of peer leaders focused on orientation activities, drug/alcohol awareness, schoolwide discussions and presentations), SHOK (Students Helping Other Kids, focuses on bonding with students on the autism spectrum)
  • In 8th grade, I then participated in CORE 8, BOLT (continuation of SHOK), and PLOP (Peer Leader Outreach Program), winning Peer Leader of the Year.
  • In high school, I have remained in the program. It focuses on remaining drug/alcohol free, orientation activities, conducting programs across schools in the area.

Member of the Writing Team of Solis and Luna

  • Solis and Luna is a nonprofit across the nation that involves empowering communities through music therapy. This music therapy is done through recitals in retirement homes and health facilities.
  • I look forward to performing in musical events in my area while working with my organization
  • As a member of the Writing Team, I work on writing content for the nonprofits' blog

Volleyball, Millburn High School, CJVA

  • I played on national club teams for two years at CJVA (8th, 9th grade). This involved around 6 hours of commitment each week, along with additional several weekend long tournaments
  • I played on my school team freshman year (around 14 hours a week of commitment)
  • I was team manager as a sophomore. This involves attending all games (usually 2-4 a week) and tournaments; keeping track of stats aspects of gameplay; constantly communicating with my coach and team.
  • I continue to stay present in the program.

Model UN, Millburn High School

  • I have participated in UN conferences such as Horace Mann, and SHUMUN among others.
  • I hope to be an officer in the program next year.
