  • Scrubbed with Interventional Cardiologist and circulated interventional cardiac procedures, including balloon angioplasty, stent placement and balloon pump placement.

  • Educated patients on procedure details, provided instructions and answered questions to minimize anxiety and improve cooperation.
  • Assisted nursing staff with placing patients on monitoring equipment pre and post procedure. As well as assisting nursing staff with intra-procedural chart documentation. Also, assisted nursing staff with intra-procedural monitoring.
  • At this practice, I was the primary scrub tech for interventional procedures. We primarily focused on abdominal/lower extremity procedures related to PAD. I am competent in using IVUS, Jetstream, Angiojet, CSI and Laser to assist with thrombectomy and atherectomy related to in-flow and out-flow vessels. I am skilled in using various .035 and .014 systems for PTA and stenting as well.
  • At this practice we also did UFEs, upper extremity procedures and various embolic procedures.
  • Some of my other duties included ordering supplies and equipment which included interacting with various vendors and company/device reps. I also stocked and maintained appropriate levels of inventory in procedural rooms.

  • Educated patients on procedure details, provided instructions and answered questions to minimize anxiety and improve cooperation.
  • Scrubbed and circulated procedures including, but not limited to TIPS, Y-90s, UFEs, biliary/renal tube placements and changes, abdominal/lower extremity arteriograms and venograms. Also assisted in placing several different types of central venous catheters.
  • I also scrubbed Neuro-interventional procedures including diagnostic cerebral angiograms, blood brain barrier disruptions, stroke treatment and aneurysm/AVM repairs.
  • I was placed in a charge position several days per week in which I would work closely with all staff in the lab including physicians and residents to promote a team approach in coordinating and facilitating daily flow of each procedural room within the lab. I worked closely with unit nurses as well as our own in making sure each patient was prepared correctly for the procedure scheduled.
  • I was given the role of creating work/call schedules for the technologists in the lab.
  • I also shared with the technologist manager the responsibility in reading each physicians procedural dictation and properly coding each exam to ensure procedures were being billed appropriately.

  • Served as lead tech in setting up a hybrid endovascular/open surgery suite within the operating room for an endovascular trained neurosurgeon.
  • It was my responsibility to order all equipment needed for each procedure as well as other miscellaneous items required for the operation of the suite.
  • I interacted with various company vendors/reps in setting up new equipment educational inservices for physicians, residents and staff. As well as, coordinating new/trial equipment being brought into the lab.
  • It was my responsibility to create work/call schedules for those that staffed this suite.
  • In addition to those duties, I also assisted with neuro-interventional procedures by scrubbing and/or circulating each case.
