Middle School Theatre Teacher

• Instruct students in the fundamentals of theatrical performance including voice projection, body language, script analysis and character development.
• Create lesson plans in units studying Laban Technique, Karen Kohlhaas Monologue work, Stanislavski, Uta Hagen, Agusto Boal for acting and ensemble, incorporating Tech Theatre, Musical Theatre voice and dance, and Theatre History.
• Collaborate with fellow educators to integrate or mirror our theatre study with topics being studied in English literature and history.
• Engage an Academic approach to Theatre, connecting our study to all academics, such as Languages, History, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, Maths, Current Events, Greek and Latin roots, and Literature.
• Directed Middle School Showcase, involving all theatre students, writing original scenes to highlight their specific strengths.
• Currently Directing Mary Poppins, Jr. with a cast of 30 students, training a student Assistant Director, student Stage Management team, student Designers, Set Designing and building with student crews.

Tech Theatre I / II Teacher; 8th - 12 grades

• Developing a curriculum to cultivate an appreciation for all Production Roles in the industry, regarding Design and Build skills and responsibilities in Set, Lighting, Sound, Costume, Props, Stage Management, and Running Crews.
• Introduce and facilitate operation of a variety of machinery and tools safely and efficiently, with practical application in building the sets for FWAFA productions.
• Collaborate with students to advance technical skills and expertise to troubleshoot complex problems and implement solutions.
• Direct or co-direct set construction projects, generating build plans and cut lists, and involving carpentry skills like measuring, sawing, drilling, and scenic painting for a variety of productions at FWAFA.

• Provide private, individualized instruction to amateur and professional performers, helping them optimize their unique talent and skillset.
• Mentor individual students and their parents, setting and revisiting goals, advising about auditions, expectations, material selection, and how to move forward.
• Maintain and expand student's skills, while building repertoire, prepping for school and professional auditions and performances, college auditions, and general study.
• Film clients' auditions for stage and screen, and coach the tips for success with pre-recorded auditions, virtual auditions and in-person auditions.

• Coached children and adults in a variety of film acting units: Script Analysis, Coldread Skills, Audition Workshop Monologue work, Scene Study, Production Classes, Voice and Diction, and Subtext.
• Directed Kids' Production Camps - Screenwriting and Produced Short Films with ages 8 through 18.
• In class use of technology with cameras and monitor.

• Offered my children rich and diverse learning opportunities through traditional and digital-based education as well as field trips, group gatherings and special events.
• Managed simultaneous needs of 2 children in different grade levels, Pre-K through 7th grade.
• Created and enforced child-based, hands-on curriculum to promote student interest and receptive learning.

• Instructed a unique homeschool student group, ages 11-17, in general Theatre Studies with a focus on acting.
• Subjects covered: terminology, improv, theatre history, costume, prop and set design, monologue, script analysis, production design.
• Directed a highly praised end of year presentation, having collaborated with students in every aspect of the production.

• Founded and developed multi-faceted Arts school for ages 5-18. 140 enrollments in the second year.
• Hired and supported instructors in the visual arts, and dance.
• Taught Acting and Playwriting, and Production classes, coordinating the classes to create End of Semester production events.

• Music Director and/ or Choreographer for several Equity Playhouse productions each season over 4 years.
• Directed, Music Directed, Choreographed and Stage Managed Casa Kids - an elite touring group of students out of professional regional theater. Coordinated and wrote script for 3 seasons of various genres of musical theater reviews.
• Taught classes in Musical Theatre, Acting, Creative Dramatics, Musical Theater dance styles.
