Turtle Research

  • Finding the bodt temp of the turtles, shade temp, sun temp, canopy cover, behavior etc. of each turtle

  • Completed survey sheets to find the frogs that called, the intensity, temperature, time at each location, wind speed, time since last rainfall, etc.
  • Gathered information about the crawfish frog by reading previous scientific research and papers
  • Created a scientific paper with the data collected to find the distribution, call phenology, and environmental conditions of this species.

  • I started educating customers after my two week training period. This training period consisted of 8 hours a day (80 hours total) where I learned about every animal in the zoo and how to lead guest on tours that promote wildlife education and how to be safe around the animals.
  • I worked with a team to run a kids camp at the zoo where I would educate campers on the habitat, behavior, characteristics, etc. of animals.
  • I would be incharge of up to 30 kids at once (ages K4 to 8th grade) and I would give them educational tours and lead activities with them such as making enrichment for the animals, creating our own animal enclosures, and educational posters about the animal of their choice etc.
  • Kept work areas clean, organized, and safe to promote efficiency and team safety.
  • Established positive relationships with customers and other staff members.
  • Developed strong relationships with clients through consistent communication and attentive customer service, resulting in increased overall satisfaction.
