  • I have been working on a surgical floor that sees mostly gastrointestinal, gynecologic, urology and orthopedic surgeries.
  • This job has given me experience with managing patient pain, wound and dressing changes and continuous bladder irrigation.
  • I have been trained and have been a preceptor for nursing students and new graduate nurses.
  • I have been working as a relief charge nurse giving me experience back in a management roll.

  • I have been to Washington where I was on a surgical unit that had many Bariatric and orthopedic surgeries.
  • In Texas I was on an Oncology unit and learned more about Chemo, Chemo precautions, pain management and hospice.
  • I then was in Virginia where I was on a diabetic and renal floor where I learned more about dialysis and how to care for renal patients.
  • I then was in Maine at a critical access hospital on a medical floor and learned more about doing our job with less resources.
  • Most recently I was in Grand Junction at St. Mary's on their neurology floor where I learned about strokes, TBI's and elective spinal surgeries.
  • Demonstrated adaptability when assigned to different units or shifts as needed, seamlessly integrating into diverse healthcare teams while maintaining exceptional performance levels.
  • This has given me experience working with almost all EMARs including Epic, Meditech and Cerener.

  • I started on an orthopedic unit and learned about elective replacements and trauma orthopedic surgeries.
  • I then went to a telemetry unit and learned about how to care for cardiac patients with CHF, CAD and many other chronic conditions as well as over flow medical patients.
  • We then became the COVID unit and I learned to care for Respiratory patients including patients on heated high flow, BIPAP, CPAP and AVAPs.
  • After COVID we became a plastic's and burn unit and I learned to care for skin flaps and became educated on extensive wound changes, flex protocols and wound vacs.
  • I was a charge nurse that also help with assistant manager duties such as managing employees schedules and helping with yearly reviews and crucial conversations with employees.

  • Was responsible for caring and assisting 32 residents with dressing, bathing, dining and medication administration.
  • We also had daily events we assisted with such as exercise, BINGO and monthly themed events.
  • In this roll I really learned the importance of the older generations and how to make a care facility feel like a home and how to be a caregiver and also recognize peoples autonomy.
