Affiliations

  • Volunteer at the Turning Point of Chenango County, in Norwich, NY. This is a not-for-profit organization. Our goal is to help individuals in our community suffering with addiction. We depend on grants to stay open. To get that grant we depend on surveys. Each person can only fill one survey out a month. My role is to communicate that to new people and have them take the survey with my assistance, track and review when that person can fill out another one, bring it to their attention and then submit it to the government. Additionally, I am working towards leading a support group.

Accomplishments

Achieved recognition by the Administrator of Syracuse Plastic Surgery, while working there as a Receptionist/Billing Specialist. I was praised for staying organized when in charge of projects and my ability to meet deadlines. To do this I used calenders, to do lists, planners, color coding and labeling. For example, after breaking the task into smaller parts, such as which were the most urgent, which ones would require more resources or time and ones of the most importance, I then would use the color RED, for the most Important. To meet deadlines, I would break the task down as I mentioned above. Then, I set clear goals and communicated clearly to the team, created a schedule and used a check list to mark each task off, once completed. Also utilizing calenders and planners. I looked at the project as an opportunity, stayed positive and rewarded small achievements to keep myself focused.
