AGENCY LEADERSHIP

  • Responsible for creating and implementing the short and long-term strategic direction and plan for the organization, upholding the mission and vision, and carrying out an annual action plan for the strengthening and growth of the organization. Act as the primary decision maker for all things related to the agency. Introduced Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion as part of the agency’s long-term goals, including a focus of becoming more client-centered in our work.
  • Act as a strategic and transparent advisor to the Board of Directors, creating effective teamwork, identifying, assessing, and informing the board on internal and external trends, issues, and opportunities. Help to identify new and diverse board members and provide orientation and relationship building opportunities for all board members.

FISCAL MANAGEMENT AND FUNDRAISING

  • Served as the Chief Development Officer from 2020-2023, soliciting and cultivating diverse sources of funding which included government and foundation grants as well as individual, institutional and corporate donors. Increased individual donations from 2019 to 2023 by 95%, with an increase of 54% in our donor base. Procured 6 figure gift to pay off agency mortgage.
  • Lead the development of the annual budget for board approval, provide the board with monthly financial statements and an annual fiscal audit. Manage and control expenses to ensure that the agency is operating efficiently. Strengthened the organization through the crisis of the pandemic.
  • Oversee the agency’s development and grant management processes, helping to write and review both foundation and government grants and submit reports on a regular basis. Cultivation of both new and existing relationships with grantors, government entities, foundation partners, and donors.

PROGRAM MANAGEMENT

  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of Mountain Resource Center to ensure a smoothly functioning organization that values all stakeholders.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and effective teamwork amongst staff members to meet the mission and vision of the agency.
  • Develop and implement standards, policies, and procedures. Provide regular evaluation and support of programming and projects alongside a trusted and engaged leadership team. Ensure data reporting is timely and accurate. Negotiate professional contracts with outside providers
  • Assist with facilitating regular staff meetings, wellness retreats, and other organizational events to create strong and positive teams. Encourage and empower staff to lead and grow.

COMMUNITY RELATIONS/ADVOCACY

  • Act as an advocate in public and private sectors, including legislative and regulatory agencies, to elevate concerns around laws and policies that impact Mountain Resource Center, its services, and constituencies.
  • Serve as the chief spokesperson and ambassador for Mountain Resource Center, representing the organization with the media and at key community functions.
  • Develop and maintain cooperative relationships with key agency partners, religious organizations, schools, other nonprofits, clients, volunteers, and the surrounding community.

  • Oversaw the day-to-day operation of Programs and Services including the supervision of staff on 7 teams: Community Access, Physical & Mental Health, Jobs & Education, Food Services, Family Services, Arts Program, and Volunteer Management. Performed recruitment, hiring, evaluation, goal setting, and work plans for each team.
  • Designed, developed, and evaluated programming that was trauma informed and member inclusive with an eye to the mission and vision of TGP. Created yearly Programs and Services strategic plan. Participated with the Executive Team in the creation of an agency wide strategic plan, as well as policies and procedures for the agency.
  • Served on community committees, networked with other organizations, spoke on behalf of TGP at community events, attended monthly Board meetings and provided reports necessary for accountability to the Board of Directors. Managed contracts and relationships with DHS, MDHI, and Denver’s Road Home. Served on TGP’s Advocacy Committee alongside member clients of TGP to evaluate and make recommendations to the CEO and Board on changes to programming, as well as legislation and policy that affected our members.
  • Assumed budgetary responsibility for 8 departments, exercised fiscal responsibility, prepared detailed monthly budget reports and the maintenance of accurate expense records. Coordinated efforts with other executive staff in developing, monitoring, and maintaining the $2.5 million annual full organization budget.
  • Contributed to grant writing efforts. Participated in fundraising, donor cultivation and special events.

  • Directly supervised a team of Resource and Housing Stabilization Advocates, volunteers, and interns. Scheduled, trained, and hired staff, provided weekly supervision, planned, and facilitated regular team meetings, nurtured, and supported staff through crises.
  • Accountable for the creation and operation of direct service programs. Managed the team’s annual budget, requested and distributed grants from a variety of funding sources, advocated for improved services based on the needs of the members experiencing inequities in housing, income, food security and health and safety, attended city- wide shelter provider meetings, and collaborated with external stakeholders. Held meetings with members experiencing issues.
  • Acted as a member of the leadership team that pivoted to include individuals who identified as transgender into our services and community.

  • Created a mental and physical health department from scratch. Oversaw all medical, counseling, substance use, and wellness programming and engaged in crisis counseling. Elevated the agency’s knowledge about human trafficking by collaborating with outside professionals to offer trainings.
  • Networking with mental health and substance use providers, supervised pro bono therapists from MHAC and interns from a variety of schools (DU, Metro, Regis), coordinated all on-site health care programs for adults, youth, and children - including an annual health fair, trained TGP staff and volunteers to work with members experiencing a variety of mental and physical health needs.Created a program to provide counseling to staff experiencing second hand trauma.
