I have been a part of the DHS Bronco Band for the past four years now. While being in this program under its previous directors; Main Director: Marquesces Brain Wilson, Co-Director: James Wilroey, and ColorGuard Director: Devin Paul Gullioite. Learning what it means to be honest and have integrity were large parts of what I have received in education from them the past 3 years of the four. Our newer directors have taught me within these few months what it means to feel proud of my personal accomplishments and how much true accountability comes from the top and bottom stand points in leaders. (Even if my leadership position isn’t a section leader or guard captain, it still matters.)

Within the time I worked at Kroger I was able to learn many valuable life lessons and skills that enhanced my foundational understanding of what exactly customer service was and how its environment can be. Within the first week of working there I was thrown into the deep-end (with appropriate help when needed) in managing self-checkout machines. It was very overwhelming but EXTREMELY beneficial in the long-run for me being able to handle stress at work and with school. Even at just 16, I was able to shine for my bubbly personality. My reasoning for leaving Kroger was because of not having a car and needing to help my mother take care of my grandparents whose health was declining rapidly. Even WITHOUT a car during the summer leading up towards my resignation I was still able to walk-to-and from work on-time everyday I was scheduled. (Yes, sadly even in the 2pm july hours of the evening.)
