Summary

As an AYSO referee and Torrance youth basketball coach, I have learned the responsibilities needed to be a leader and the skills to be an effective problem solver. My superiors recognized these skills and assigned me as head referee of the U10 division where I had to assign other referees to games. I came into my head coaching opportunity without the skills needed to effectively communicate to my team. After a 0-4 start I began to understand the methods to reach my players and we turned our season around and earned a playoff berth. I'm excited to put these skills from previous volunteering experiences to use in my first job.
