Student-centered Superintendent with 31 years of experience in public education with a proven track record of building capacity in teachers and elevating student achievement in communities with a high percentage of low-socioeconomic students. The goal is to develop a culture of high expectations with board members, parents, students, and all stakeholders to improve the quality of education for children.

Principal

• Achieved an "A" Rating in the Texas Accountability System with all campuses at "A" or "B" and multiple distinctions for each.
• Initiated Early College Campus where students earned an Associates Degree (60 college hours) while simultaneously earning HS diploma
• Developed systems and processes to consistently pass balanced budgets. Left district with 25 million in Reserves-six month of reserves
• Initiated mental heath center for students and parents (THRIVE) by securing over 1 million in funds from Bexar County for start up.
• Secured and distributed over $2.5 million in Teacher Incentive Allotment funds for high performing teachers, as part of Cohort A. Served as a TEA exemplar for subsequent applications which has led to $7.5 million in performance pay for teachers
• Led three successful bonds totaling over $50 million dollars to build and upgrade antiquated facilities
• Expanded CTE programs over 10 year period by adding classes in: Auto Mechanics, Auto Body, Cosmetology, Robotics, EMT, Culinary Arts, Ag. Mechanics, Law Enforcement, and STEM.
• Initiated Somerset Education Foundation which has donated over $2 million dollars back students and teachers
• was one of the first school districts in Texas to implement an incentive pay program for teachers and administrators
• Initiated a system of system of building capacity with teachers with the implementation of Master and Mentor teacher positions.
• Initiated a change in evaluation system that aligns performance to student and teacher growth
