- As part of Texas’s Governor initiative to aid in the security of the United State’s South Western Border, my duty was to serve as the Sergeant of the Guard ensuring the tasking and manning of critical operational points to deter illegal entry into the United States. Other duties included to work alongside Federal, State and local law enforcement agencies in a combined effort to deter and reduce the number of illegal entry into the United States.

- My job as an automotive technician includes bringing in vehicles into the shop for service. Most commonly the service I provide is oil changes. This service includes draining the used oil, changing the oil filter and refilling with the proper amount of oil. Other fluids are checked and refilled if necessary as well as checking for proper functioning of the vehicle lights. Other services include battery, air filter and wiper replacement.

- After coming back from the COVID mission, I got an opportunity to work alongside Border Patrol Agents on the Border Mission. As a Texas Army National Guard member I was tasked out to serve as a camera operator in aiding the agents. Other tasks included working in a control room opening gates and barriers, as well as cell doors. This included the transferring of incoming calls from people or other departments.

- During the months of April- August, I was activated by the state to help with the Covid relief mission in the city of Houston, Texas. There, along with other members, we were tasked out to do several jobs. This included helping out at the Houston food bank to pack up boxes for distribution as well as distributing them. As a bilingual speaker, I was tasked out to record and survey people coming to pick up food to provide a better count to the food bank. Other task that was completed on this mission included helping out at COVID testing sites by helping people register and help with traffic control.

- This period of time was divided into two sections, being that it was the same deployment just in two separate rotations. The first rotation lasted until July 2018. During the first rotation spent in the Horn of Africa, tasks and duties included aiding the naval forces by providing port security to their ships as well as serving as force protection/ security forces for various camps across the area. After returning from leave, the second rotation began in August 2018. In the second rotation, I served as a driver in a truck crew conduct the task of Quick Reaction Force. Common duties were to conduct preventative maintenance checks and services of routine vehicles to ensure they were mission capable and correctly functioning for mission success.
