My lifelong passion has been to aid those in need, steering me towards a career in helping professions. This drive has led me to various roles where I could utilize my enthusiasm and altruistic spirit. Starting in 2013, I provided private healthcare through Capitol Senior Care intermittently until 2022 and also served private clients, supporting their mental and physical health. During my time in Georgia, I worked in private healthcare and with a forensic unit at a psychiatric hospital, witnessing the challenges faced by the mental health care system at East Central Regional Hospital. Upon my return to Texas in 2020, I resumed working with former patients while completing my BA in Psychology. Subsequently, I secured a position as a case manager at Bluebonnet Trails Community Services. Within five months, I advanced to Supervising Case Manager and Jail Diversion Coordinator, overseeing case managers across eight counties for the TCOOMMI program. My responsibilities included conducting crisis interventions in these counties' jails, coordinating primarily for Burnet County Jail, performing mental health evaluations, and ensuring ongoing medication and treatment for individuals under our care. Additionally, I identified inmates requiring transfer to mental health hospitals and rehabilitation centers. Moving forward, I aim to pursue a master's in Counseling and a PhD to eventually establish my own practice. Currently, I am devising a plan to launch a nonprofit organization in my rural community to offer resources to the underserved populations I have served throughout my career.
I have successfully completed my BA in psychology with a minor in criminology at the University of Texas of the Permian Basin . I graduated Suma Cuma Lauda with a 3.5 GPA.
