Work History

Developer Intern /Data Analyst Intern

CAHL Research Lab
Berkeley, California
05.2026 - Current
  • Assisted in optimizing and improving development project OATutor with data gathered from users
  • Created a layout for moving our hosting from Berkeley Quadro servers to AWS Lambda
  • Worked with and refined our AI tool to take openstax textbooks and convert them into usable questions with hints to target learning gaps
  • Worked hand-in-hand with instructors in classes using OATutor to refine AI output, improve the tool's effectiveness, and unify data
  • Participated in team meetings to discuss project progress and technical challenges

Research Assistant/Web Developer

AI for Good Foundation
Berkeley, CA
01.2026 - 05.2026
  • Worked directly with leaders at Economists for Ukraine to tailor websites to their needs
  • Created back-ends using custom scripts to integrate feeds and other sources into the website
  • Developed front-end visuals for webpages and refreshed old designs
  • Collected, processed, and organized data regarding virtual and in-person events
  • Ran RCTs and conducted usability testing to determine ideal visual and webpage layouts

Intern

Active Optical Systems
Albuquerque, USA
05.2023 - 08.2023
  • Developed mechanical, electrical, and software components for projects
  • Worked on various aspects of team projects including diagnosing and analyzing code, creating electrical systems, and ensuring project punctuality
  • Assisted in the design, quality testing, programming, and assemblies of laser weapon systems

Intern

Active Optical Systems
Albuquerque, USA
05.2022 - 08.2022
  • Developed programs in C# to track and assist in shipping safety for high-profile components being transported across the country
  • Trained in a machine shop, learned how to create parts with laser cutters, plasma cutters, and various CNC machines
  • Created and tuned a low-cost, magnetic deformable mirror for use in adaptive optics

Activities

  • Vice President of a club with over 1300 members, 08/04/25- Present, Berkeley, CA
  • Robotics, Designed, constructed, and programmed competition robots; ranked 17th worldwide and 8th nationally., 01/01/20-01/01/24
  • Double Bassist, Advanced musical performance experience, including Principal All-State recognition and participation in paid orchestral and musical theater productions., 01/01/17-Present, Albuquerque, NM

Projects

  • Low-cost Dynamically Controlled Phoropter

05/01/23-08/01/23: Used a magnetic deformable mirror to create a phoropter used for determining prescriptions. Designed a circuit board, wired, and went through the design process to create software and a functional system.

  • Deformable Mirror Scanner

05/01/23-08/01/23: Designed a system, created the physical track, electrically wired it, and developed an extensive object oriented program to automate the scanning of a deformable mirror, using the blueprint files it was created from. Used two distance sensors to determine height, size, stroke, angle, and various other factors about each actuator to ensure quality control and functionality, and report all the data into an organized spreadsheet.
