Perform general physical labor tasks such as digging, lifting, or carrying materials. Communicate with supervisors & other workers to coordinate tasks. Assist in plant shutdowns or maintenance periods, where extra labor is needed for cleaning tanks, pipelines, & work areas, inspections, or machinery disassembly, &/or routine inspections or repairs on equipment. Conducting preliminary safety checks before work begins, ensuring the area is hazard-free & ensuring work areas are stocked with necessary supplies such as safety PPE. Fire watching as well as ensuring that safety equipment like fire extinguishers, first aid kits, & emergency exits are easily accessible. Managing minor spills or leaks by applying absorbents or blocking flow to prevent further damage. Transporting tools, supplies, and materials to & from work sites. Transport materials using forklifts & pallet jacks. Sweep, mop, and sanitize common areas or tools after use & always following all safety protocols, including use of PPE.
Operate heavy machinery such as forklifts, CAT 415 Backhoe Loader & Volvo L180H Wheel Loader. Loading carbon onto trucks & rail cars. Maintaining equipment, perform routine maintenance & inspections, check fluid levels, ensure proper lubrication, & adhere to maintenance schedules. Follow safety procedures while operating equipment, promote workplace safety & environmental practices, while maintaining situational awareness. Manual labor in various weather conditions, supplying or holding materials or tools, cleaning work areas before & after projects. Driving company vehicles & trailers to pick up/drop off materials & supplies. Digging ditches, building dikes & levees, & filling holes with earth, rock, sand, & asphalt gravels using pick & shovel. As well as always wearing proper PPE, following health & safety regulations, & reporting any issues or incidents when necessary.
Overseeing the day-to-day operations & ensuring the smooth running of the shop while prioritizing client & staff comfort, including but not limited to; managing staff, scheduling appointments, greeting clients, communicating clearly & effectively with clients, suppliers, & staff, supervising the front counter, managing client flow, handling incoming calls & providing information/following up post-appointment questions, processing client payments, paying staff at the end of shifts as well as total money count at close of business each day for owners records, staying updated on safety regulations & ensuring the practice adhered to all relevant laws, ordering & managing inventory of supplies & equipment as well as light janitorial duties.
