Work History

Village Administrator

Village of Rantoul
01.2018 - Current
  • Serves as Budget Director over a $60 million budget, and as such works with the Comptroller to develop and monitor the annual budgets and financial reports for the Board and the Mayor; develops special reports and data and provides technical advice and assistance for the Board and the Mayor as needed
  • Develops long range plans and programs that benefit the Village; presents plans to the Mayor and Board for consideration
  • Supervises all Department Directors and coordinates the departmental reports, serving as liaison between the Board, and observes individual and departmental performance; may perform annual evaluations and makes recommendations to the Mayor and Board
  • Authorizes all hiring and discipline of all 250 employees under the Village Personnel Code
  • In collaboration with the Mayor, prepares the agenda for the Board meeting; prepares monthly administrative report; makes recommendations and reviews Village projects, seeking cost options and alternatives
  • Makes recommendations to the Board on fiscal policies, wage adjustments, employee benefit programs and financial programs that are to the advantage of the Village
  • With the Comptroller, directs the planning and implementation of the Village’s data processing system; identifies data processing needs and recommends the purchase of additional computer hardware and software; develops procedures for the efficient and effective use of the system
  • Also works with Public Works Director on telecommunications issues
  • Attend all Board and committee meetings; research and prepare information for the Board
  • May serve as the representative of the Mayor or of other appointed officials to National, State and Regional organizations as called upon by the Mayor and/or Board; insure Village representation at important trade organizations, such as IMEA, IMUA, IPEA or the Illinois Natural Gas Association, as available
  • Serves as Village’s primary liaison with federal and state agencies
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above as presented in local ordinance.

  • Continue to serve as a Play-by-Play Announcer for high school and college sports, including Basketball, Football, Baseball, Softball, and Volleyball
  • Served as On-Air Personality and Host for both a music morning program as well as a talk-radio morning program
  • Served as Program Director and Sports Director creating, implementing, evaluating, and directing all programming for both an AM and FM radio station
  • Continue to serve as Lead Anchor for several special broadcasts including NJCAA Division II Men’s Basketball National Championships, and served as host of the Balloon Classic, Indianapolis 500 Time Trials, and the Field of Dreams National Little League Tournament
  • Also serve as Co-Director of a Sports Media Camp for Kids.

  • Served as Assistant for all preparation, mitigation, response, and recovery for any natural or man-made crisis occurring within Vermilion County
  • Oversaw training of all volunteers in Search and Rescue, Weather and Storm-Tracking, Storm Preparedness, and Crisis Response
  • Also train volunteers in establishment and operation of various Sheltering-In-Place locations
  • Served as Public Information Officer during Preparedness, Response, and Recovery phases of crisis incidents
  • Focused on Terrorism planning and response operations for Vermilion County
  • Wrote Safety Plans for all county schools, and any business which requested those efforts
  • Wrote Emergency Operations Plan for Vermilion County, working with all government, social, and civic organizations and entities to ensure their input and inclusion in operational plan covering all four phases of Emergency Management
  • Tracked all Tier II Hazardous Chemical storage in Vermilion County.
