Principal Software Engineer

Insight
12.2023 - Current
  • Architected and delivered integrated solutions in Generative AI, traditional machine learning, statistical analysis, data engineering, and enterprise reporting, including a full-scale data engineering and machine learning solution with one of the largest privately held companies in the United States. The implemented solution created over $3 million in immediate efficiency, and also built a scalable and flexible solution that could be used in other business units.
  • Presented to external stakeholders and prospective clients on trends in data and AI development, including workshops with clients to identify key use-cases and architect solutions in real time.

Senior Software Engineer

Insight
12.2022 - 12.2023
  • Assisted with the development of a system of AI and machine learning models using the full Microsoft Azure stack that constructed manufacturing reference designs and functions, including developing analytical techniques, expanding the data warehouse, building data pipelines, and reporting. This project generated over $16.5 million in revenue for the client in its first year.
  • Built out an application rationalization system that could help clients identify the best strategy to take with existing or legacy applications. This process was built using machine learning techniques, in cooperation with business experts who could identify important trends in the data, which could then be systemized by the model. This model is now used to assist in strategy development in early engagements with new clients.

Software Engineer

  • Developed a parts recommender system for a manufacturing client that would recommend substitutes for out of stock or long lead time products using characteristic data. The solution implemented will generate over $1.5 million in additional revenue for the client in its first year.
  • Responsible for the comprehensive development, including project planning, coding and development using machine learning techniques implemented with Python, Apache Spark, and SQL, version control in Azure DevOps, pipeline development and automation in Azure Data Factory, as well as being directly responsible for communication and reporting on progress and development with the client.

  • Delivered on regulatory reporting requirements for 8-10 different reports each week, including composing complex queries in SQL to return information from our data infrastructure, automating execution and delivery through Python scripts, and finally translating the results of the report back to regulators and internal stakeholders. The processes developed saved the company over $4 million in fines from the previous year and significantly increased trust with regulators.
  • Individually identified the need for and developed a web application with a user-friendly GUI, that automated certain manual tasks. This tool eliminated manual processing burden for 4 different teams, with each team saving significant time in labor, including over 1000 hours in overtime pay previously dedicated to manual execution.
