On November 4, 2016, the Federal Communications Commission issued a Notice of Apparent Liability to NSS. This is a set of questions regarding NSS's business practices. The FCC suspended NSS's committed reimbursement exceeding $17M in FY2016, forcing NSS to seek chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
