After graduating High School in 1977, I spent the next eight years in the Marine Corps. There I served as legal adjutant until I achieved the rank of Sergeant. I then became the Operation and Training Chief for my Squadron. After leaving the service I relocated my family to Texas, where I became involved in the auto glass business. After ten years of learning the trade I started my own glass co. "Solid Rock Auto Glass". This small business helped facilitate my pursuit of higher education. At 37 years of age, I enrolled at Southwest Texas State University. There I graduated in 4 years with a Business degree. I found myself drawn to teaching professionally, as I had already served my church for the previous 15 years teaching the Bible to various age groups. Although I have a degree in business, I have a core passion for teaching, for shaping the minds and cultivating the hearts of the young.
Improved classroom management by implementing clear expectations, consistent consequences, and positive reinforcement strategies.

Over the past twenty years I have built multiple pieces of furniture from chairs to beds. I have created sub-floors and laid hard wood floors. I constructed a tiny house for my daughters 1/2 scale: with windows, door, kitchen counters, living room upstairs bedroom, skylight , fully sheetrocked, shingled roof, and front porch. I have built 350 sq.ft of wood decks on the back of my house.
