Aerospace Mechanic and Machinist

In my over 32 years with Boeing I had multiple job titles and responsibilities at numerous locations in Washington state. The majority of my career I was an assembly mechanic or a machine operator. My role as a mechanic included : drilling, riveting, assembly, installation, wiring, sealing and plumbing. I worked on sub assemblies and the aircraft itself in Renton and also out in the field in Seattle. As a machine operator I operated NC routers, ply cutters and water jets. My final role was operating a high speed skin mill

Delivered aerospace metal alloys to multiple customers throughout King, Pierce and Snohomish counties, using flatbed trucks rated at 16,000-28,000 GVW. When not on the road I operated an automated Do-all horizontal band saw and a 24" carbide blade aluminum plate saw. Also was required to do all warehouse duties including: shipping/receiving, order filling, forklift operations, and customer service.

Certification

While at Boeing I was required to have many certifications. Most required re-certification on an annual basis. Some of them were: Sealing, Electrical bonding/grounding, respirator, Electrical splicing, Plumbing fittings, oxygen systems, aircraft jacking/de-jacking, overhead cranes, forklift/stacker, and first responder/aid. I was also a certified trainer for overhead crane and forklift/stacker allowing me to re-certify other coworkers. Lastly, I was heavily involved in safety and was a focal for many years.
