Volunteer Experience

  • Grand Rapids Youth Foundation, 09/01/11, 02/01/13, Prior to volunteering, I was a player of the foundation and was able to learn the sport that I came to love and as a girl it was a great opportunity for me to learn the most male sport alongside other young women, once in high school I started playing for the coed ice hockey team. I still wanted to be involved in the program so I joined the coaching team. I was able to help young women learn and fall in love with the sport that the foundation taught me over the years. I helped teach them the basics like tying their ice skates properly, to making plays while out on the ice. I loved being part of the team and watching the young women improve over the season.
  • Berkley Hills Community Church, 06/01/09, 06/01/12, Within the youth group, I helped with many things inside the church community, including helping with childcare for Sunday school, setting up activities that the church offered, being involved with food and clothing drives for the community, raking and shoveling for nearby homes, and spending time prepping a Christian camp for the summer season.
