Dear Arkansas State Football Staff,

I am writing to express my enthusiasm for the opportunity to join the Arkansas State University football program as an Assistant RB Coach. With a background that spans from a walk-on player to a scholarship athlete, professional opportunities, and coaching roles, I bring different types of experience, a relentless work ethic, and a deep passion for player development.

My football journey began as a walk-on kicker at the University of New Hampshire. Through determination and adaptability, I transitioned to wide receiver, ultimately earning a full scholarship and starting for four years. These experiences taught me the importance of resilience, discipline, and leadership—qualities I’ve carried into my coaching career. After participating in the Kansas City Chiefs Mini Camp and signing with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, I transitioned into coaching while completing my degree, gaining hands-on experience as an assistant WR coach.

In my coaching role, I was responsible for:

  • Creating detailed pass-game drawings and scouting reports for the offensive coordinator.
  • Assisting in running position meetings and play installations, including stepping in to lead WR meetings and install new plays when the position coach was recruiting.
  • Breaking down film to identify coverage trends and preparing detailed reports for players and staff.
  • Filling in as RB coach for a day during the position coach's absence, showcasing flexibility and adaptability.
  • Organizing and coordinating a recruiting trip with the QB coach, managing communication with high school coaches, and planning a detailed itinerary.
  • Assisting with recruiting efforts, including leading campus tours for prospects and their families.

These experiences have honed my ability to connect with players, analyze game strategies, and contribute to a program’s overall success. My approach emphasizes holistic player development, accountability, and fostering a team-first culture focused on shared success. The values of Arkansas State’s football program—its commitment to developing young coaches and building a competitive team—resonate deeply with my philosophy. I am eager to bring my skills and passion to your team, contributing to its success on and off the field.

Thank you for considering my application. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss how my experiences and vision align with the goals of your program. I look forward to the possibility of contributing to the Red Wolves' storied tradition.

Respectfully,
Sean Coyne
