Goal-oriented software development professional brings strong commitment to collaboration and solutions-oriented problem-solving. Uses PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular, and Node.js to develop custom-crafted, customer-focused websites and designs. Committed to high standards of user experience, usability and speed, for over 17 years. Adept at developing and deploying complex backend systems, web services and databases.
As lead full stack developer for the IBM Z and LinuxONE Community, my role includes development in PHP - including custom WordPress plugins - MySQL, JavaScript, jQuery, CSS, and HTML. The IBM Community is based on a third-party, closed source platform, which required building a custom middleware and API in order to add functionality required by management. This middleware is hosted on the IBM Cloud, and makes use of Node-RED, Strapi, MySQL, and AJAX to inject content from our custom database onto the Community on page load.
During my tenure at IBM, I have also collaborated on other projects, including: a custom WordPress plugin which allows for management of open source packages, and a searchable table on the client side, written in jQuery and implementing AJAX; IBM's Modernization Center website, which was another large WordPress project, including creating custom blocks that adhere to IBM's Carbon Design System; and IBM's Advocacy Hub, which is another WordPress focused project, building upon the development from the Modernization Center.
All of my job roles for the past ten years have involved responsive design to ensure a well designed UX for the user on any device or screen size.
In addition to my development duties, I am also responsible for providing support for dozens of colleagues and end users. This requires strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a high paced, collaborative environment.
IBM has been using the Agile/SCRUM Methodology since 2021, and I was trained and certified as a SCRUM Master. We use Github, Jira and Trello for our kanban boards and project management.
