  • Operate apparatus, hose lines, and turrets; aircraft and building evacuations; forced entries into aircraft or vehicles; raise and climb ladders; and use chemical extinguishers, hand tools, power tools, and other equipment in the performance of ARFF duties.
  • Respond to aircraft emergencies, including standby details for in-flight situations, aircraft equipment problems, and homeland security threats, crashes of commercial, civilian, or military aircraft, in-flight or ground hazardous materials incidents, fuel spills, and special maintenance or other safety-related requirements.
  • Provide aid to medical emergencies, including sudden illness, personal injury accidents with machinery, and motor vehicle accidents; administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation, automated external defibrillation, and use other medical equipment and procedures in providing emergency medical care in accordance with the level of training and local protocols.
  • Conduct regular drills and simulations in order to maintain proficiency with safety protocols and procedures.
