- I provided peer support, as well as a safe space for my fellow students who were seeking a substance-free environment or prevention resources.
- I held group and/or individual sessions for students who wanted to share experiences or personal challenges. Doing so, I had to read the room to differentiate when to be an open ear, or when to give guidance and advice.
- This internship sharpened my active listening, communication, social, problem-solving, and emotional intelligence skills. It also brought to my knowledge different scenarios people might go through and what recovery and prevention really looks like.
