Graduate Research Assistant

Western Michigan University
01.2008 - 12.2013

  • Set-up and implemented two-photon excited fluorescence (TPFE) technique to examine the non-linear optical response enhancement of organic chromophores loaded on the surface of ZnO nanoparticles
  • Investigated chromophore labeled micelles/surfactants to mimic the presence of local electric field in proteins and successfully demonstrated two-photon absorption as a potential tool to monitor protein aggregation and folding using two-photon exited fluorescence (TPEF) spectroscopy
  • Implemented analytical techniques including Electrospray Ionization Mass Spectrometry (ESI-MS) and Gas Chromatography mass spectrometry (GC-MS) to examine real-time surface sampling of Real Men perfumes by spray- desorption with stream of N2 followed by direct collection into a vial and dissolving with an appropriate solvent for chemical analysis.
